INSTALLATIONS

Plumbing installations in Yakima and Kittitas Counties

Tailored solutions for every corner of your home or business, set by a family crew that has been at it since 1909.

Chapter 01

From a new faucet to a new boiler, one crew sets it

Central Mechanical has been putting plumbing into Yakima and Kittitas County buildings since 1909, and the install list on this page is the short version of what that looks like today. Sinks, faucets, toilets, baths and showers. Drains and water filters. Water heaters, boilers and hydronic heating. Hose bibs, yard hydrants and the water lines that feed your appliances.

Their own wording is that the list includes but is not limited to those jobs, and that is how it works in practice. If the thing you want connected carries water, gas or heat through a pipe, it is worth a phone call to (509) 248-5944 before you assume it is outside what the Ash family handles.

The same shop that installs the fixture also repairs it later. Whoever put your new tub in at a house in Selah or Moxee is the same office that answers when a valve under it lets go, which is a short chain of people to hold accountable.

Remodels and new construction: call before the walls go up

Their message to builders and homeowners is plain: new construction starts with plumbing, and the right time to call is before demolition starts. Do not start swinging a hammer without a plumber in your corner. Once drywall is hung or a floor is poured, every pipe decision costs more to change.

That goes for bathroom remodels too, residential and commercial. One customer wrote on the Central site that the crew pulled out an old 1993 tub, told them honestly not to put that cracked tub back in, and even adjusted the shower head height for the slightly taller replacement. That kind of straight talk is what a remodel needs from the plumber on site.

If you are planning a build in Ellensburg, Cle Elum, Sunnyside or anywhere else in the service area, bring Central in while the framing is still open. Pipe runs, water heater location, floor heat and shower valves are all easier to settle when you can see through the walls.

Chapter 03

Warranty, estimates and who to ask for a discount

Every installation is backed by a one year labor and product warranty. Their technicians are certified and keep training so they stay current on plumbing techniques and technologies, and Steven Ash, Kris Ash's son, holds journeyman plumber and medical gas certifications.

For large projects over $2,500, the estimate is free and comes with no obligation. Veterans and seniors in Central Washington get 10% off their services, so ask about it when you schedule. The office takes calls Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and the 24/7 emergency line is the same number.

“Our contractor hired these guys to install our new water heater and shower/tub combo. Randy and his team have been great. They pulled out our old, from 1993, tub and recommended that we don’t put that tub back in our bathroom since we are doing a remodel and the tub was cracked and super old. … they have been on time and have done a great job. We really appreciate their honesty and that little push for us to get a new tub!”
